Default Profiling a locked PDF with PitStop

This is also a Enfocus PitStop question. I need to make sure that the security settings on the PDFs I create are correct. I have created a PDF profile that will inspect for proper security settings...the only problem being that PitStop won’t let me inspect a locked document.

How do you preflight a locked document?

    Thanks,
    Don

You can preflight a locked document - but only report errors and NOT
    perform any fixing ....

Right, that's what I need to do. I need to check to make sure the security settings I put on the PDFs are correct (i.e. printing OK, changing the document not OK, Acrobat 3 compatible, etc) The preflight options in Acrobat 7 don't have any checks for security, so I can't set it up in Acrobat. (although it will allow me to run a check on a locked document)

PitStop professional has all the settings I need, but inexplicably will not allow you to actually run your preflight on a locked document. Why then, are there preflight settings to check for security? I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but can't figure out what.

Hmm - never actualy noticed that Pitstop will not execute the preflight
if the PDF is set to no editing ...

I just checked - it also existed in 6.5 also ...

I would make use of the Security Policies in Acrobat and the PDF
Optimiser, this pretty much controls the conversions/checks you require ...
