Projector or Shockwave format? - Macromedia Director 3D

I have made an exe of my game engine but it adds to the file size. It may only require one download however. I need to ask, when a shockwave movie downloads into a web browser, does it cache it so it plays faster next time you enter the same web page? If it does, I may as well use shockwave format rather than a projector as shockwave format is smaller in file size. But, if it doesn't cache, and you have to re-download the shockwave into the web player *each time*, then I may as well use a projector ...

    Default Projector or Shockwave format?

I have made an exe of my game engine but it adds to the file size. It may only require one download however.

But, if it doesn't cache, and you have to re-download the shockwave into the web player *each time*, then I may as well use a projector exe file as it would only mean one exe download.

    Thanks in advance.

The browser will cache the Shockwave movie. Pretty simple to test, just load
a Shockwave file for the first time then hit refresh.

Yes, in most bropwsers it chaches itself however it will be removed from the cache when the cacher gets full, so it will only be cached for a week or two unless they keep visiting it sot he shockwave format is a good one to use (especially since projector is almost 3mb bigger!)
