Projects from scratch - Mac Programming

OK, say that you have a program that is like those in many begining C++ books. No platform dependent stutff, just main() a few other functions and perhaps some classes written just for the program. Now how does one use Project Builder with such a program? I have tried various things but I can't get so much as a main function with "Hello world!" to work. OK, say that you have a program that is like those in many begining
    C++ books. No platform dependent stutff, just main() a few other
    functions and perhaps some classes written just for the program.

    Now how does one use Project Builder with such a program? I have tried
    various things but I can't get so much as a main function with "Hello
    world!" to work. I would like to use Project Builder for my homework
    which are more along the lines of hashing programs or simple lexical
    anaylzers than hello world.

    As it is right now I just use the command line and do g++ -Wall
    foo.cxx bar.cxx

    Thanks!

    Simple projects like you describe are called Tools in PB. If you're
    using C++, make a C++ Tool, in C make a C Tool, and for ObjC make a
    Foundation Tool.

    If you then run it within PB, your output will show up in the Run
    window, and you can type in there. If you're debugging, then the same
    goes for the Standard I/O tab of the debugger window.
