PS 7.0 tech question
I am used to using photoshop 6.0 and I recently got 7.0. My question is that when I used 6.0 and I used the scroll wheel on my mouse I could zoom in and out. Now with 7.0 it will only let me do this until the image is the window size. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Re: PS 7.0 tech question
There is no real fix for this most annoying change - if you scroll with the Alt key held down, it functions the same as in version 6. Some folks from Adobe said that the change was to make it more consistent with how other Windows apps worked.
Personally, I hate it, but <shrug> that's how you do it, you use the Alt key.
Peace,

Re: PS 7.0 tech question
This is odd - even though I use PS 7 a lot, I had never tried the scroll wheel.
I have 2 observations:
1) Adobe's story about using the ALT key is screwy - other apps [IE, Office etc.] use CTRL.
2) There is something strange about the way it works anyway. Firstly, I found that if I moved the wheel without ALT, it would magnify just a tad, but refuse to go any further. Secondly, after using the scroll wheel, PS seemed reluctant to accept the usual CTRL-0, CTRL-+, CTRL-- keys.
Edit: Just found out why the other keys don't work. The press and hold of ALT is the precursor to accessing the menus via the keyboard. So it's waiting for F for File etc. Another reason why CTRL would be the correct key.

Re: PS 7.0 tech question
All in all, annoying, isn't it.
In v6, you could use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out REAL fast. Was pretty sweet.

My biggest grump going to version 7 was discovering that you now needed to
use the ALT key to do this - I keep forgetting :)
cheers
