PS CS keeps quitting

My son has an older imac G3. He says he's installed CS twice and it starts and then quits. He's running OS 10.2.6. I'm running that too on a G4 and I've had no problems. Is it his imac or what? He can run PS 7 with no problems.

What G3 processor ?
Running OSX on a G3 less than 500Mhz is really slow, so hopefully he has at least a 700Mhz G3.

How much Ram is installed ? with both PS CS and OSX, the key is to max out the installed ram with an absolute minimum of 512MB.

It is a case not only of "how much" RAM but also of "how good" RAM -- both could be a factor here.

Another probability is the current state of his HD and how he is handling Photoshop's need for scratch space.

He only has 512MB ram and he can't set the scratch space because the program won't stay open long enough to get to it.

He keeps the HD pretty clean and runs only a few programs and not at the same time.

Well first off he should update to 10.2.8

this is a more stable system
