PS7 stalls/hangs when getting blend menu

Hi Gang,
I have PS7 running on a gw 4200. It seems when I have an image that now I want to add some blends to, it freezes for 20 or more seconds before it opens the dialog box. Sometimes I need to open another program to un-stall PS. It also happens when I goto new image.
Running 98se, 256RAM

Any thoughts??

You're referring to the blend options/Layer Styles dialog?

That's a known problem with Win98 itself, which can be made worse by some other applications (Outlook Express, and I think BlackICE).

The best solution is to upgrade to 2K or XP.
