Default Publish Web Command for Dreamweaver 8

hi, I am thinking to move from frontpage 2003 to dreamweaver 8 but will like to
have frontpage server extension installed in the server because application is
still running on the top of it.

is there publish web command for dreamweaver 8? or is there anyway to connect
to frontpage server with deamweaver 8?

I like to make sure of this before I move to deamweaver 8. thank you

I am having a similar dilemna. I used Dreamweaver MX 2004 and currently one of
my clients only allows access to the servers via frontpage due to the frontpage
    extensions on the server.

I was using the Publish Web Command in Dreamweaver MX 2004 to gain access and
make my changes but now that I have upgraded to Dreamweaver 8, I find that the
Publish Web Command extension from MX 2004 doesnt work in dreamweaver 8. I
cant seem to find a similar extension for the new dreamweaver 8.

Any help would be appreciated. I cant do any work for this client until I get
this problem resolved. Is there a solution or should I just rollback to
    Dreamweaver MX 2004

I spoke with technical support at Macromedia today by phone and they
confirmed that there is no Web Publish Command available for MX 8.

Furthermore, they were not able to provide a date when it would be
available via the Macromedia exchange web site.

I am having the same problem. I install the Web Publish extension and the
option does not show up in Access. Additionally, when I tried installing it on
my non-Administrative user, the extension did not show up in the Extension
Manager. So, I tried installing it as Administrator. There was a minor error
that showed up about conflicting with another user, but it went in anyway.
When I went back to my non-Admin user, the extension showed up, but was not
activated. I activated it and got the same conflict warning.

However, the extension still does not work. I can't see the option in my
Access menu for my site's remote server.

If I can add this extension successfully, I hope to publish to Tripod's
hosting service as well as a few others.

I also cannot access my server except through the FrontPage extensions. Not
having the extension means I must also run the old version of Dreamweaver or
FrontPage. It's a major pain having to switch between programs to upload files.

I'm in the same boat. Unfortunately, the guy who controls the domain refuses to
change servers or remove the FP server extensions. Please help us out here and
update the Publish Web extension for DW8. :-(
