Purchasing Software
I'm new to XP. I have a network in my home with 4
computers attached. I just bought a desktop and a laptop
for my son for college. I need to purchase Microsoft
Office to be installed on these new machines. Do I have
to purchase two copies of office or can I install one copy
on both machines.

probably out to read it yourself and decide for yourself.
I do know that for your son he's probably better off waiting until
reacing college where he can get at greatly reduced price (probably) an
academic license either from the college or the local bookstores.

Kevin
You can purchase one copy and two licences.
With your son going to College you could probably get the Academic version at
a greatly reduced price.
Check out pricing options at this MS site.

Not legally. Microsoft needs to add to their 53 Billion dollar cash
reserve.

That's correct.

It doesn't. Not every rule is enforced automatically.
