[Q] how to restore SSA after MKSYSb tape restore?
We have S70 with 6215 SSA adapter and SSA disk array. The SSA (16
disks) current configured as 2 RIAD5 loops and 4 stand along disks. Due
to rootvg(on internal hdisk0 NOT SSA) has problem we need restore from
MKSYSB disk. My questions are:
1. what is procedures to handle SSA after MKSYSB tape restore? Any
documents?
2. does RAID5 configuration will still keep or lose?
Thanks.

Hi,
To my mind, you only need to import VGs from SSA Array after mksysb restore.

Thanks. After MKSYSB restore, the RAID configuration still their, but Pdisk
sequence mess up. User to I have Pdisk number from left to right 0-7 and on
back 8-15. After restore the pdisk number is here and their. I know how to
change "hdisk" number, but don't know how to change pdisk number?

Re: [Q] how to restore SSA after MKSYSb tape restore?
As long as you don't have any actual problems there (your VGs are
varied on and your filesystems are all mounted etc), it doesn't matter
if pdisk#'s don't match up to the same hdisk#'s. If you need to you
can translate between the two with ssaxlate, trying to make the
numbers the same is really only a cosmetic exercise. It probably can
be done but if you don't know exactly what you're doing you could
accidentally create a real problem! If you don't have any problems it
might be safer to leave it :)
