Query yzer adds extra space/newlines - Microsoft SQL / MS SQL Server

Hi all, I use Query yzer (2000) to create and edit stored procs, views, udf's and such. I actually like it pretty much, but there's one thing that's annoying me. When I want to edit for example a stored proc, I use the object browser and then right-click on the proc I want to edit and choose edit from the menu. Query yzer now shows an ALTER ... statement, but it always adds a couple of extra spaces/newlines in the code: - One newline between 'GO' and 'ALTER' - One space between 'ALTER' and 'PROCEDURE' - One newline between the ...

Default Query yzer adds extra space/newlines

    Hi all,

I use Query yzer (2000) to create and edit stored procs, views,
udf's and such. I actually like it pretty much, but there's one thing
that's annoying me. When I want to edit for example a stored proc, I
use the object browser and then right-click on the proc I want to edit
and choose edit from the menu. Query yzer now shows an ALTER ...
statement, but it always adds a couple of extra spaces/newlines in the
    code:

    - One newline between 'GO' and 'ALTER'
    - One space between 'ALTER' and 'PROCEDURE'
    - One newline between the end of the stored procedure and 'GO'.

So after a while you get lots of empty lines and lots of spaces
between ALTER and PROCEDURE. I find this really anoying and always
remove the extra newlines/spaces. I cannot find anything about this
behaviour on the newsgroups or internet, but I've seen this with other
people as well. Does anyone know about a solution to this bug?

    Thanks,
    Mark.

    */
    SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
    GO
    SET ANSI_NULLS ON
    GO

    ALTER PROCEDURE SPR_ABC
    (
    param1 INT
    )
    AS
    BEGIN
    SET param1 = 1
    END

    GO
    SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER OFF
    GO
    SET ANSI_NULLS ON
    GO

I have not studied this behaviour, but permit me to be so vile to say
that your entire concept for development is flawed. You should not use
SQL Server to store your source code. Source code belongs in a version
    control system.

Basically what you are doing now, is to throw the source code away, and
when you need to you disassemble the binary code. (Let it be that the
binary code is very similar to the source in this case.)
