Quest3D and Director MX 2004 - Macromedia Director 3D

I've developed a director .exe program. Now I would like to expand on that program by interacting with files created by Quest3D. For example, say in my director program I have an image of a car. When the user clicks the car, I would like a window containg the Quest3D model to open up (this Quest3d file would have a model of the car that is interactive to rotate/go inside/etc) and be user-interactive. As you can tell, I have very little experience with Quest3d (fortunately I won't be doing that part of the development!) My question is, what kind of ...

    Quest?

as far as i know it is not possible to include quest3D files in director. but i think you can create a quest3D.exe file with quest 3d put all interactivity in it and launch it with director.

    Hi,

I worked in past using Director and Quest3d file embedded via ActiveX. I try
to interface director enviroment and quest3d object in many ways by public
methods and properties, the only problem was that some stuff in ocx object
doesn't work fine! :-(... you can set an call any quest 3d channel to move
object, interact with the lights and so on but when you try to read any
value in quest3d (by method 'getChannelValue') it return an undefined error,
this is a bug in the Quest3D ocx... i had try to write to Act3D team but no
reason was given about this problem.
Maybe this bug will be fixed in next version of the player (it coming soon),
    i hope
    bye

Thanks for the replies. Luca, I think you were able to answer my
question...From your response it seems that there is a quest 3d activex object
that can be embedded within Director. Being able to programmatically control
the object from director is a little buggy, but at the least you can have an
embedded quest3d object that the user can interact with as if it were a
standalone program (ie they can zoom, rotate, etc. using the mouse/keyboard).
    Does that sound right? Thanks.
