Quicktime movie inside a flash movie?
I have a Flash movie of 800x600 pixels in size.
I want to display a trailer in quicktime at position 400,200 inside the
movie. The trailer is a Quicktime movie of 320x240 pixels.
I know i could convert the movie to Flash, but i want to retain the
ability of quicktime to start automatically as soon as there is enough
content loaded to allow the movie play without pausing to wait for more
content (QT video streaming) and to allow the users to save the trailer
in their computer in quicktime format.
Is it possible?
If not, Is there any workaround?
TIA

Re: Quicktime movie inside a flash movie?
If you import video into flash it gets converted, so I don't think you
can really do this completely in flash. The only video format that I
know of that flash can pull dynamicly from outside the flash peice is a
flv file. However flash does support streaming with the flv file, and
any video that has been imported into flash can then be exported as a
flv (you can then delete it from your flash file as you won't need it
embeded any more).
Generally I see most people just linking to a separate page that has the
quicktime peice embeded into it.
As a side not I am expecting that the new Flash Video class Macromedia
is going to be releasing to the Macromedia Training Partners to teach
towards the end of the month will cover this sort of thing and a lot more.

Re: Quicktime movie inside a flash movie?
Only Director can link to an external .mov file. You can't embed .mov in
Flash, it has to be converted.

contain the Flash movie with a black rectangle at 400,200 and the upper
layer would contain the movie. Can it be done this way? Anyone can tell
me how to use layers?

over or under the activex control for QuickTime - not stable, not safe
and certainly not effective.
Why not just embed the movie in Flash, and add a button in the Flash
movie that links to a downloadable QuickTime version of the file for
saving?
