Quitting before started

I have reinstalled version 11.02 after reinstalling my system software.
(panther) After succeessful installation is reported, I double click the
application program. It appears in the desktop bar and then quits out before
the program opens. Please advise? Judy are you there?

You might need the 'hot fix'. Try this link (watch text wrap)

You need to run macromedia's "HotFix" you can download it from their support site
none of the Macromedia apps will launch without running this patch
