Radial Gradients from Illustrator 10
I've exported vectors from illustrator as an .swf then imported that into Flash 2004, but this method creates extra points versus importing the .ai file directly. However, when I import the .ai file directly the colours become less intense and the radial or complex gradients get converted to .png files. I need the highly optimized vectors, the import .ai method provides- but it is time consuming converting the colours. Can anyone help?

Re: Radial Gradients from Illustrator 10
So far I have not been able to get Flash and Ill 10 to work together very
well.
You have stated the problems I too have had to deal with.
There is nothing you can do about the extra points, both programs use a
different method of drawing vectors.
I have not been able to get complex objects and filters to remain vector,
same as you.
But, I didn't have these problems at all with Ill9, so I use 10 for non
flash stuff and 9 for flash.
One tip on the colors, make sure your Ill file is using RGB. I know I over
looked this a few times and had awful
color shifts. My rule of thumb now is to draw everything in Ill, then color
and detail in flash. Hope this helps a little.

Re: Radial Gradients from Illustrator 10
Thanks for the comment.
I design for the web and working in illustrator 10 cuts the size by a third.
This may help you:
When I working in Illustrator 10 colour everything, first export as an swf, then colour the problem gradients a solid colour, put them on a seperate layer and save as an illustrator file. Import them both into flash. When importing the ai file make sure to check maintain layers. Now you have the small ai version with the colour correct version - get accustomed to the short cut keys k=fill, f=align gradient, and i = eye dropper.
really slow, but worth the size benefits
