Random, Temporary Freezes on Macs Connecting to X Server
Hello All -
We have recently started using an X Server/X RAID unit in our Layout
Department for all of our file services. Unfortunately, all the
machines that connect to the server have started experiencing
temporary freezes (client can't do anything with any apps) that last
about 10 seconds to a minute before everything goes back to normal.
These freezes seem to hit everybody at the same time and occur every
15 to 30 minutes. The server is a single drive machine with 1GB of
RAM connected to an X RAID with four 180GB drives. I'm wondering if
it is a server NIC issue, RAM issue or something with the fibre
channel. However, before I got too crazy and opened up the case to
start fiddling around with the hardware, I thought I should see if I'm
forgetting any other possibilities.
What else should I check out?
Sincerely,
Mike Simone
