Reading 32bit BMP images

    Default Reading 32bit BMP images

All Windows programs (as far as I know) interpret
32-bit-per-pixel BMP images ARGB by ignoring the
alpha channel A and extracting RGB in the correct
    order.

    InDesign 2.0 (Win98) ignores A as well, but R and B
are swapped - the images look considerably wrong.

How can this be cured ?

Hmm, that's a good question but the way I do it is by staying away from BMP images to begin with.
I think you could convert it to something else like a TIF with a program like Photoshop.

    Gabriel,

    assumed, my observations are correct:
Canīt we expect that BMPs are interpreted as usual ?

BMP is a simple and reliable data format. The tests:
PhS7 (not older versions), Paint, PageMaker.
    Everything OK.

Unfortunately my image processing system is based on
BMP-32 (the fourth channel A is used for coding selec-
    tions permanently).

    Gabriel,

thanks for your compassion. The problem is practically solved
by a batch conversion for all 32-bit BMPs to 24-bit BMPs in a
    project folder.
