Reala 6 years after expiration date - Photography

I just thought some of you might find interesting the following: I had a brick (20 rolls) of Reala 100 speed film in my refrigerator, not the freezer, since I bought it nine years ago. It is a full six years past the expiration date. Today I took out two rolls, let them get to room temperature, and loaded the first in an 8008s. I shot all 36 exposures with fill flash at a sunny outdoor wedding of a pal. Every frame was perfectly exposed with the natural colors and saturation that lovers of Reala have come to expect. I had a brick (20 rolls) of Reala 100 speed film in my refrigerator, not

Today I took out two rolls, let them get to room temperature, and loaded
the first in an 8008s. I shot all 36 exposures with fill flash at a sunny
outdoor wedding of a pal. Every frame was perfectly exposed with the natural
colors and saturation that lovers of Reala have come to expect.
The second roll was used at the indoor reception, where flash from an SB-24
was the main light. All 36 turned out incredibly perfect with dazzling, rich
    colors, pleasing everybody.
I might be reluctant to do this with 800-speed film, but this certainly
proves to me that 100-speed film in cold storage is safe to use well past
expiration. I'm not sure what the effect is on faster film, but I've got
some 800-speed Fuji in there that I'll be trying soon. I felt safe with the
100-speed Reala because I absolutely knew the conditions under which it was
    stored since fresh.
