Default Reassigning spacebar shortcut to option

I may be missing something obvious. But in the InDesign CS2 Keyboard Commands I can't see a way of reassigning the hand tool shortcut (spacebar or option+spacebar) to the old quark shortcut of just option.

I'm putting way too many accidental spaces in, and frankly just preferred the quark 'base notes'.

    Any thoughts?

Default Re: Reassigning spacebar shortcut to option

Would be nice, but for now just get used to always use the opt+space it works for all circumstances. And make sure opt is the first key you press in that combo.

You cannot re-assign all those shortcuts that have an effect as long as you hold them (as opposed to those shortcuts that just start some process).
This is very probably due to performance issues if they weren't hardwired.

So the Alt-key yields the hand when you are working on text and duplicates objects when working with the arrows.

Alt-Space is really easy after a week.
