Default Recently used files list in FMP5.5

I've been experimenting with a new installation of FMP5.5

I was setting it up ready to test upgrading our current 4.1 system. So I was
looking in the preferences Edit>Preferences>Application and clicked on the
Recently Opened Files Box and a message popped up saying 'This command
cannot be used by this installation of FileMaker'

What does that mean? Why can't it be used by this installation of FileMaker?

    Thanks

    Ben

Have you used any files yet? A brand new install has a problem
