Recreating image
Hello all, I need some advice (pointed in the right direction) I want to
recreate an image [right now its in jpeg form but uneditable. What I thought
I could do is place it on a layer and they place anthoer layer over it and
then then draw what I could recreate the image to the best of my ability (of
course) Am I going at this correctly, am am I using the right program for
the task, I also have Fireworks MX. Thank you

Yes, this is generally called tracing, albeit "manual" tracing. You may also
want to try Freehand's tracing utility, which, in some cases, if the source
art is clean enough, or a line drawing itself, works pretty well. Whether
you do this in Freehand or Fireworks, depends on whether you are going to
need the artwork for print or for the web. It's generally safter to work
like this in Freehand, since it's easier to move to a lower-res, bitmap
format from a scaleable-vector, than the reverse...

Thank you Joel, I am doing this for a web project so that I can use this
image at different resolution and not lose quality. I think I'll give
Freehand a try..
