Have you tried to start in text mode? It might be a problem when probing
your video card. (Even if you say no probe it will still probe it).

You don't need a Linux boot CD to Linux;
http://www.redhat.com/advice/tips/dualboot.html

But you need to boot with the first CD to create this file;
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/custom-guide/s1-rescuemode-boot.html

Mount the WinXP FAT32 partition by typing something like;

mkdir /mnt/WinXP
(you got to make a mountpoint to mount to first)

mount -t vfat /dev/hda1 /mnt/WinXP

Next create the boot image file, type something like (1st link above);

dd if=/dev/hdX of=/bootsect.lnx bs=512 count=1

(Replace the X with the partition number of your Linux boot partition)
Hint: fdisk -l /dev/hda from Linux

Then copy it to the root of your "C:" drive;

cp bootsect.lnx /mnt/WinXP/bootsect.lnx

But if you really want a Linux boot CD create the image of the Linux boot
floppy, type something like;

/sbin/mkbootdisk --iso bootdisk.iso `uname -r`

Then burn this file to the CD.

For extra points do some reading on the commands used;

man mount
man mkbootdisk
man mkdir
man cp
man fdisk
man dd

And don't forget to read/review/download the manuals;
