if you can not export your w3D with correct reflecionmap you can apply it to
    the shader with lingo.

    member("3DPlanet").model("Glaskugel").shader.refle ctionMap =
    member("3DPlanet").texture("Portrait")

or are you having trouble with something else?

the problem is that the shockwave3D engine does not support mirror effects. at
the moment i have no idea how to do a mirror surface for a complex model like a
    desk.
you can use a second camera and grab the image from it to generate a mirror
    effect.

there were some threads in the past about this idea, but personaly i would not
use this method because it will slow down everything. i am not a 3dmax user so
i am not sure what is ment by flat mirror exactly. do you want to have the
floor as a mirror or the desk itself?

Sorry, but what you want will not happen. Procedural textures will not
work in Shockwave yet. The only textures that you can use are bitmap
maps. That is a huge drawback. You can't even use noise modifiers
(that kills me...). You can also only use Phong or Blinn shaders.
Hopefully, in future versions of the Shockwave 3D engine, more robust
features will be added (PLEASE!!). But right now, there isn't a direct
way to do a mirror effect, apart from what Hondo mentioned about faking
it using a second camera and some fancy imaging lingo.

Thank you for taking your time!

Here's a example of a mirror reflection effect, it makes the piece reflect in the board.

you can fake the effect with a transparent ground and a scene that is build mirrored on the backside of the flat mirror. so you dont really need a mirror. and you wiss not have a big performance hit.

But that won't really work because i'm making a game, first person game.

I guess I'll have to give this up and focus on more important things.. thank you anyway for takng your time!

Wow- now that is a brilliant idea! I had never thought of that.
Thinking out of the box. Good one.
