Please could someone help me?

I'm using dreamweaver 8.
I'm creating an Intranet.
Html.
Some of my links are relative to the site root and some are relative to
documents.
I need to move the site to a new server. That gives me plenty of broken links
because of the root relative links. There're plenty of them. I need to make
them all document relative.
I have tried change link relativity extension that was mentioned in a
different topic.
It doesn't work for me!! On some links it works and on others it chops off
half of a word on plenty of links.
It tells me that I'm entering in an invalid URL but still carries on.
I've tried \\SERVE_ NAME\SHARED_FOLDER\ and
\\SERVE_ NAME\SHARED_FOLDER\/
and both of does with the home page appended to them.
What can I enter in or is there a differnt extension that I can use?

I'm on a major deadline and am heading home now after 4 hrs overtime. Please
could someone help me?
I will not be able to respond to your posts straight away because I don't have
dreamweaver installed on my home PC and I will not be able try it out untill
tomorrow morning.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and any info will do.
