Releasing Clipping Paths Background Problem
I am working in Illustrator 10 on a PC. I have made clipping paths with an image (using Object - Clipping Paths - Make/Release) in the past and when I release them I maintain my transparent background around my image. Now all of a sudden when I release a clipping path I get a white background around the image.
Can someone tell me how to get back to a transparent background around the image after releasing the clipping path?
Thanks

What happens if you delete AIPrefs with Illustrator closed, then reopen it? Same problem?

Re: Releasing Clipping Paths Background Problem
Janet,
Close Illustrator, click the Illustrator start up icon and IMMEDIATELY click and hold down the SHIFT CONTRON ALT keys. You'll get a message asking if you wish to delete all settings. Say YES and Illustrator will open with a new AIPrefs file with original default settings. This, be the way is the same for Illustrator on MACs.

Looks like that deleting business is going to Janet's head.
