Removable Storage and Ejecting
I am trying to use the Removable Storage Commandline tool
(RSM.exe) to after a scripted backup runs to eject the
tape from the Drive. The exact command line I am running
is:
RSM EJECT /LF"ARCHIVE Python 06408-XXX SCSI Sequential
Device"
(no line break obviously)
The interesting thing is these are branch servers, and
there are IDENICAL servers at different branches where the
tapes eject without issue. Also of note: The backups run
with out issue.
There is a 5 minute delay between when the backup
completes and when the eject is attempted, but I have
tried it both ways (no delay and 5 minute delay) with no
change.
When I look in the RSM MMC, I have set the work queue to
keep all requests. The Eject job is there, but it has a
status of "Canceled" and the job "completes" (as in
changes from queued to canceled) around 6 hours after the
request was made.
Is there any way to fix or make more reliable the ejecting
of these tapes?
Thanks
