Removal of dt_ stored procedures - Microsoft SQL / MS SQL Server

Hi. I made a search on this newsgroup and answered my question about what are the dt_ stored procedures I have in my database. But could not find anything about deleting them on a production environment. My database will be regenerated on my customer's server. There will be no developers to use Visual Studio or any other kind of development tool to access the database only my own application will do that. Is it safe to remove all these dt_ stored procedures from the database on the production server? Regards, Chris Leffer *** Sent via Developersdex http://www.developersdex.com *** Don't just ...

Default Removal of dt_ stored procedures

    Hi.

I made a search on this newsgroup and answered my question about what
are the dt_ stored procedures I have in my database. But could not find
anything about deleting them on a production environment. My database
will be regenerated on my customer's server. There will be no developers
to use Visual Studio or any other kind of development tool to access the
database only my own application will do that. Is it safe to remove all
these dt_ stored procedures from the database on the production server?

    Regards,

Yes, it is safe to delete them from your production server. Use Query
yzer instead of EM. However, if you use any of the Visual Tools like the
EM to create the data base objects, they will be re-created.

    Hi ,
We have these dt_ procs and a table dtproprties on our
server too. I just want to know what they are for.

Also is there a way to drop all dt_ procs in one command.

    Thanks a lot.

    Sam,

Database diagrams are stored in dtproperties.
     [/ref][/ref]

The below command would generate the scripts.

    SET NOCOUNT ON
    SELECT 'DROP PROCEDURE '+[name]+CHAR(13)+'GO'
    FROM sysobjects
    WHERE type='p'
    AND [name] LIKE 'dt_%'

Copy the output, verify and then execute it.
