Removing a PDF File
At regular intervals I need to replace the PDF file of my catalog on our web
site. Each new version has a new date in the title to identify it so it does
not replace the current version. The previous version is in the documents
folder on my site, I can see it. but I can't remove it with Contribute. Or so
it seems. Contribute can't edit it and has no option to delete it. Do I need
another piece of software to keep these PDF files from building up? Thanks
everybody. Bill

Re: Removing a PDF File
Have you tried this yet?
Browse out to the catalog, then go to File > Actions > Delete Page.

Re: Removing a PDF File
No, in the Browser I have to go to: VIEW - CHOOSE FILE ON WEBSITE. Which gives
me a list of all files and folders on my site. When I select the PDF file , all
pull downs are greyed out, and the only delet button in the window is for
Folders. Dbl click and it just says I can't edit it in Contribute.?

Re: Removing a PDF File
OK. The solution may be a mix of the last two messages.
First, open with Contribute the PDF file to be deleted. Follow the sequence:
View > Choose file on Web Site > Select the PDF file to be deleted > Clic the
Open button
The PDF file to be deleted should be displayed in Contribute's main window,
with the alert yellow message "Contribute can't modify..." bla, bla . Don't
get impressed.
Second, delete the PDF file. Follow the sequence suggested by Geek1000, i.e.:
File > Actions > Delete File. Yes, delete it.
This sequence worked well for me, I hope it will work for you too.
If you still have problems, I suggest to go and check the permissions chosen
by the Contribute Administrator..
