Sorry. Just realized you said ver. 9.0. Guess I should try paying attention to what I'm reading.
You can just toss the folder for 9.0. You should also delete the preference files inside System Folder>preferences.

Hmm. I don't have illustrator installed in classic any more. Is it an illy plug-ins folder? If so, yes, you can delete it but be sure to save any plug-ins you not installed by illustrator if you want to keep them. Then you can re-install them later.
