replacing double spacing

When working in the 'code' window of dreamweaver (rather than the 'design'
window), I find there are great numbers of empty lines which separate the lines
of html coding.

How do i compact the lines of html coding and get rid of the empty lines
please?

What is your OS? What is the OS of your host server? How have you set the
Line Break type in the preferences (Code Format)? It should be set to the
OS flavor of your host. Try using COMMANDS | Apply Source Formatting after
setting the line break type properly.
