Default REPOST [configuring RDS on 2K3 IIS 6.0]

REPOST FROM [RDS/ADO on IIS 6.0]

Hi,
I'm having trouble configuring RDS on an IIS 6.0 server.
I've followed all KB articles I've found on it but it
still doesn't work. I've done this:

1. create an MSADC virtual directory under the application
directory to use.
2. configure MSADC directory to grant access to all IP
addresses.
3. checked on
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\W3SVC\Param eters\ADC
Launch\ key that there are both entries for the
AdvancedDataFactory and RDSServer.Datafactory.
4. changed DWORD value
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\DataFactory\HandlerInfo\Ha ndlerRequ
ired from 1 to 0
5. reset the application server.

Once the server was restarted I tried to access the pages
with the RDS and I got the error from
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;174518:

8209, 800A2011, Internet Server Error: Object/module not
found.

I'd really appreciate if someone could give me any clues
to how this error could be solved since I'm running out of
ideas.

Thanks in advance.

You'll probably get better response by posting to a relevant newsgroup. This
issue has nothing to do with ASP.
Try m.p.data.ado.rds
or
m.p.scripting.remote
or
m.p.inetserver.iis

PS. I've crossposted this to asp.general. The best practice is to pick the
single newsgroup that seems most relevant to you (flip a coin if you have
to) and post a single message to it. However, if you must post to multiple
newsgroups, you should crosspost instead of multipost when . This ensures
that only one conversation is going on. Crossposting involves sending a
single message to multiple groups by putting a delimited list of newsgroup
names in the To: or Newsgroups field of your message.

Please reply to the newsgroup. The email account listed in my From
header is my spam trap, so I don't check it very often. You will get a
quicker response by posting to the newsgroup.

Thanks for the tip. I've got the following 404 error:

2004-05-05 14:42:14 172.16.100.20
POST /msadc/msadcs.dll/AdvancedDataFactory.Execute - 80 -
172.16.100.37 ACTIVEDATA 404 2 1260

I've tried to add the ISAPI filter to the site's ISAPI
tab, but it doesn't load. Writting a web service is the
only way to enable the msadcs.dll object? I'm still a
newbie on .NET, and writting a web service might turn into
a big (with capital B) problem.

Thanks.
