Default resaving jpegs with new file info

When I add file info (caption, title author etc) to jpeg images from a digital camera is there any way to save the info without resaving the jpeg file, which would result in recompression and loss of image quality?

    Ken,

As you have not edited the image data in any way, re-saving at the same compression level will not degrade the image data at all. There's really no need to worry about it....

I'm dubious about Photoshop's compression not changing the image. I use photools' iMatch <http://www.photools.com/download.php?PHPSESSID=39bf2ca31a968f8b7e3b9db366c a4734> all the time. Excellent cataloging tool, exif editing, and the 30 day demo will give you time to work.
