reseting a text field after interval.

Hi all I am trying to make a text field display text when a button is clicked, and then dissapear after an interval or upon moving on to a different frame so that when a user returns to this frame the field is clear again.

The text is displaying but I cant figure out how to reset the field without problems.

This is what im using so far

on mouseUp
set the text of Field 67 to "message goes here"
end

Can anyone help?

self clear on new appearance behavior for field sprite.


on beginSprite me
sprite(me.spriteNum).member.text = empty
end


with this behavior attached, you cound make the clear after a period
work by, having this behavior appear in the sprite perhaps 50 frames
down the score from the initial text entry frame...
