Default resetting file associations to FW

my .png files in Windows XP are not associated to FW.
They do not open with FW when double clicked.
    When I select>Properites then Opens with>Change
it does not even list Fireworks as one of the applications,
If I click on Browse and select the FW application, it does nothing.

How can I fix this? Do I need to re-install FW?

Default Re:resetting file associations to FW

I have found exactly the same problem on my XP Pro (SP1) machine. File associations from my Studio MX installation still work for Flash and Dreamweaver, but not Fireworks. When I try to manually associate file types none of the Studio MX 2004 applications are listed.

Default Re:resetting file associations to FW

I just remembered that I uninstalled Fireworks MX after I installed Fireworks MX2004. Windows probably removed my Fireworks file associations then, ignoring MX2004 completely.

I reinstalled Fireworks MX2004 and the files now work fine.
