Retrospect 4.2 Macintosh Drivers
I recently got a copy of Retrospect 4.2 to backup my Macs.
I've tried to backup to a HP C1533A 4mm tape drive, and a Yamaha CD-R drive.
Retrospect says that it doesn't see either of the devices as a valid backup
device. Do I still neeed some kind of driver for these devices?
The CD-R works fine burning CDs under Toast, but the tape drive doesn't appear on
the desktop. This is with MacOS 9.2.
Thanks, Jim.

I've never used the C1533A, but I have used the C1554C with Retrospect
4.2 and 4.3. It's a mystery to me why the 1554 would work, but the
1533 wouldn't. Is it a know good drive? Do you have all the driver
updates?

Tapes don't appear on the desktop (Unless you use DeskTape
<http://www.optimatech.com/desktapepro.html>, which is useful, but is
a bit of a hack.)
