RGB text color question
I've got the following behavior
on mouseDown me
set the color of sprite the currentSpriteNum to rgb(0, 0, 255)
end mouseDown
end
on a text sprite. It should change the text color to blue however it
changes it to this pink color instead, any ideas why?
thanks,
cj

sprite at runtime it is a good idea to make sure that the original colour is
either black or white: otherwise Director seems to combine the colours,
resulting in very strange effects.

Re: RGB text color question
Yes, I do have the original color set to black.

backColour, backgroundColour: different properties apply to different member
type; what works for one may not work for another.

..color should be working properly. Try creating a test movie with just:
- One text member, exactly like you have in your movie
- One behaviour that sets the colour on mouseDown
See if you get the same problem or not. If not, try to narrow down the
difference. If you do get the same problem, upload the test movie to a
webserver and post a link so we can have a look at it.

Re: RGB text color question
Robert,
I must apologize. I have some black text members in my cast and some red.
When I created a test movie I realized it is the red text member that is
giving me the problem. When I set it to Black it works as expected. Of
course my stage is black so that won't work. Curiously, I set the text to
white and nothing worked (the color didn't change at all). I guess I will
have to live with a pink mouseDown.
Thank you for your help.

on beginSprite me
sprite( me.spriteNum ).color = rgb( 255, 0, 0 )
end
Should fix the problem, allowing it to change from red to blue (just so long
as it is set to black in the cast).
