Rollovers - Macromedia Fireworks

I'm pretty new to Fireworks and am looking for some advice/tutorials - I have a graphic with small images in a circle. I'd like to make each small image change on mouseover. Can I do this by creating hotspots in the graphic where I want the rollover to be or is it better to slice the image and do it that way? Thanks in advance! Michelle...

    are rollovers, disjointed or otherwise, the most complex that fireworks gets
    with regards to html coding? drop down menus, drop side menus, disjointred
    rollovers and such? is it possible to have a button go to a particular frame
    and stay there? basically doing a flash 5/mx job without the flash. (some
    ppl dont want flash on their site - my client included)

    Fireworks is primarily a graphics app with a little HTML capability for
    the sake of convenience. Do your complex HTML markup Dreamweaver.

    What do you mean by go to a different frame and stay there?

    i mean. this: in flash it is possible to have a button to link to a specific
    frame. on that frmae there is information.
    onpress {
    gotaAndStop frame 6
    }

    frame 6 will have some info on it.
    i am wondering if something like this can be achieved in fireworks. can
    buttons be linked to frames?

    As long as the button is in a separate slice, it can be linked via
    JavaScript behavior to an object on another frame. That's how disjoint
    rollovers work.

    As Linda already told you, Fireworks is a graphics app and the only kind
    of animation it can export are animated GIFs which do not support
    scripting of any kind so no, moving around frames on a timeline like in
    your code above is not possible in Fireworks. To get Flash-like
    fonctionality, you need to use Flash...
