    Default Rotated landscape pages

    Hi,
I am having a problem unrotating pages in my PDF document. The original in FrameMaker is in landscape orientation, but the PDF version is rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise (portrait). In Acrobat 5, you could rotate the document or some pages, save the file, and it would stick. I can't find a way to do this in Acrobat 6.

Also, I infer that my Postscript files are also rotated. I don't believe my commercial printer will care, but it's a pain.

I've tried creating the Postscript with pages set as landscape and as portrait, but they come out the same in the PDF.

I'm using FrameMaker 6 and Acrobat 6 on a Dell Dimension 8100 with Windows XP (the culprit? it's new).

    Thanks for you suggestions.

Have a look in your Distiller 6.0 application > Settings > Edit Adobe PDF Settings > General > Auto-Rotate Pages and make sure it's not switched off. If it is set to 'Collectively by file', change it to 'Individually', or vice-versa. Save off the conversion settings under a new name and use these in your conversion from the Framemaker document.

Alternatively, after the PDF has been created, go into Acrobat > Document > Pages > Rotate Pages and rotate them to your liking before pressing OK. If you save then, that rotation should be saved also.

Simply using the Rotate View buttons in the toolbar of Acrobat won't do this, as they only turn the view but not the actual file itself, much in the same way that, if you zoom in and save, the next time you open the file it will be back in its default magnification.

    Hope that helps!

I'm having the same problem, but in reverse! Could there be a bug in Distiller?

I'm using Distiller 5.0 to print from MS Word 2000. The page in Word is set up as 6W x 9H. I'm selecting the "portrait" option when printing. No matter what I do, though, the Distiller prints the page as 9W x 6H

My Distiller settings are set with "Auto Rotate Pages" and "Individually" checked.

Any ideas what might be going on? This problem occurs regardless of what program I'm printing from (MS Word or Open Office).

    Thanks!

    Hi
I am having a similiar problem I believe, to Susan's -- though one straight from scanning directly into Acrobat6 -- a smaller selected section which should be copied as 8W x 4H Portrait is scanned/printed as landscape mode. Driving me crazy. Any Ideas? I have portrait selected everywhere and this is the same for two different printers. On Win2000.
