rounded rectangles - Macromedia Fireworks

Hi-- Can someone tell me how to make a rounded rectangle in MX2004? I choose the rounded rectangle tool and draw a rectangle. It does not have the rounded corners, but rather it is squared off. If I choose the subselection tool, I can see the rounded outline on top of a squared off shape. I can't ungroup it. What am I doing wrong? Also, how do I change a squared off rectangle to a rounded rectangle? The help file says to alt shift click a point, but then what? All I can do is move the point. Thanks for ...

    Default rounded rectangles

    Hi--
Can someone tell me how to make a rounded rectangle in MX2004? I choose the
rounded rectangle tool and draw a rectangle. It does not have the rounded
corners, but rather it is squared off. If I choose the subselection tool, I
can see the rounded outline on top of a squared off shape. I can't ungroup
it. What am I doing wrong?
Also, how do I change a squared off rectangle to a rounded rectangle? The
help file says to alt shift click a point, but then what? All I can do is
    move the point.
    Thanks for the help.

There's two ways to get this to work.

    1. Use the Rectangle tool. Draw out a rectangle. Look in the PI for the
"Rectangle Roundness" setting and adjust it as necessary.

    2. Use the Rounded Rectangle tool. Draw out a rectangle (mine started
out rounded). With the rounded rectangle selected, grab one of the
yellow diamonds (with the selection tool) and drag left or right to
    adjust the roundness.
