rs6000 44P Model 170 boot failure eeor code unknown

Hi,

I have this rs6000 44P Model 170 workstation that fails to get past
the first white "IBM" screen, and the LED on the box says "0557".

I can't find this code anywhere within the "44P Model 170 Service
Guide".

Does anyone know what this 0557 means??

I searched that page for "0557" and it came up blank.

ok maybe it is the "557" in that page - root fs won't mount. Lovely.
