I installed Norton and when I did it found a virus.
It popped up a window that said "Virus Found" and then windows said it could not open some file.

I found that I cannot run almost any program unless I right click on the program and click uncheck the box that says "protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity"

I think that Norton flipped some switch in XP that is meant to protect me from a virus.

I have run both Norton and AVG and they both have confirmed removal of the virus and are monitoring now.

I would like to return to the way it was before though that all these programs, from Windows Media Player, to OE, ran with admin privileges automatically.
