    is there a command where i can runstat a set of tables in just

    Look at the REORGCHK command. Yes it will check and report back but it
    also update statisitics on table, all tables, user tables, system tables
    or schema; you choose.

    I noticed also that the v8 Control Center will update statistics for
    multiple tables in one step. Just (multi)select the tables you want,
    right click, and choose "Run Statistics"

    Nice addition by IBM..
