safari browser an d drop down boxes - Mac Applications & Software

In many ways I love working with Safari...but I have one problem which is major in my work. I often have to do searches on webites which involve text entry in blank text boxes and making a choice in drop down boxes (e.g boxes listing countries, states, provinces, etc). While I can tab from one text entry box to another and enter data sequentially, Safari version 1.0 ignores drop down boxes which then requires me to manually select each drop down box with the mouse and scroll down for the option I need. Dop I need to adjust Safari for it to do this?

safari doeesn't support this, and this is a major reason i can't use
safari full time. tabbing to menus and selecting with keys is *very*
    convenient, especially with long menus.

Well be comforted to know that you are not alone...I sent a bug report to
Apple about just this problem when Safari was still in beta. I can't find
any setting in the program to make it work either, does make for a pain in
the posterior when working with web forms. It is little things like this
that keep me from dropping IE from my mac altogether. There is also some
page rendering problems that are still there, hopefully those will be fixed
    soon as well.
