The latest Ubuntu should install fine using an SATA HD interface. I
just built a dual boot PC using an Intel 915 GEV motherboard -

and the HD you mentioned. the standard install, however, sets the
default video refresh rate at 85 Hz which will toast some LCD monitors
such as the Viewsonic VP171b. I never have gotten the audio to work
even though Intel -
[url]http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/ev/ev_drive.htm#debian[/url]
has drivers for the Debian 'Sarge" release. I have yet to get ANY
Linux distro to fully work with a late model motherboard. I would be
interested in hearing the details from any and all who have.
