Default "Save As" command no longer available in 5.0

I use Adobe Acrobat 5.0 to create PDF's from MSWord. When I open the PDF, I get a message that "This file may contain newer information than this viewer can support...." I never had this problem before, it started just recently. Also, now when I edit the PDF file, I only get the option to "Save". The "Save As" command is "grayed" out. When I look over the document properties, I see:
Creator: Adobe PDF Maker 5.0 for Word
    Producer: Acrobat Distiller 5.0 (Windows)
    Security: None
    PDF Version: 1.5 (Acrobat 6.X)

I think the problem is with the PDF Version being Acrobat 6.X. What happened and how can I fix it? I need to remain at the 5.0 level due to other users, printers, etc.

To avoid the problem, you need to avoid opening PDF 1.5 files, which
cannot be the subject of a SAVE AS by Acrobat 5. The people creating
the files need to fix it.

Not sure about the above fix. Anyway, I downloaded the trial version of Acrobat 6.0 and used it on one of my files. Now, when I open it in 5.0 I get the same message you got ...... and, I cand do a "save as." I'll try to reopen in 6.0 and maybe there's a save backward to 5.0 option. ????

Its could be a carefully orchestrated scam run by Adobe. The acrobat 5.0 works just fine, but possibly they want you to buy their useless and bloated new stuff. This can be done legally by making files not backwards compatible, but here I have a hunch something more subtle and illegal is going on, since if saving a pdf using bullzip software, the option is still greyed even though this should be perfectly compatible with 5.0 (as it is on computers I run which I never let touch the internet). Abobe is known for "silent updates", and I suspect they must be crippling your older software software in the hopes you will by more bloated, DRM crippled, and privacy invasive junk they sell now. Be warned abobe, if you are fiddling with this it is most certainly antitrust and illegal, and you can expect a big class action lawsuit in the near future.
