save the hi-score - Macromedia Director Lingo

i want to know how can i save something from a "field" or a variable or the hi-score of an exercice to hard disk or to floppy. if the answer is ( fileIO or filextra) i allready try it but nothing, they confiused me . i dont know how to use it , so if you want answer me with an sort example because i am an idiot . (not hole a script but how is the syntax of this) please save me..... thanks a lot...
