saving a pdf to users harddisk? - Macromedia Director Basics

I want the user of my cdrom to be able to download a pdf to the harddisk when he clicks on a certain button. Is there anyone who can tell me how to do this? Any help would be really appreciated....

    Rob,

    thanks for the answer, I did have a look at this newsgroup before asking my
    question but the posts I think you`re referring to are the ones how to open
    a pdf from director as where i want it to save onto the user`s Hd or did I
    overlooked some posts?

    Just look for posts about saving files to the user's hard drive. Saving
    to the user's drive is the same regardless of the file's extension.

    I have tried a few things with extras but is there any other way where you
    don`t need a licence key to create a projector?

    You can save a file from your CD to the user's hard drive with just the
    fileXtra. It's free. It's in the Xtras folder for Director. There's a
    stuffed or zipped file that has all of the information on how to use
    it.

    There are many different strategies for saving files. If you read
    through the past posts, you'll get a feel for the different ways that
    people have approached this.
