Saving back to V10, type question
We have not received our copy of Illustrator CS yet so we have been asking our customers to save down to AI v10 in the meantime. The problem we are running into is that every file that we get that is saved down has the fonts converted to outlines. The designer that I talked to told me that when they save it down it automatically converts the fonts to outlines. We now have 3 customers saving files down for us and all the files that we have received have been converted to outlines.
Does anyone know of a way that they can export an AI CS file to an earlier version without converting the fonts? I hope to have the new software soon but need a solution I can recommend to our clients in the meantime.

Re: Saving back to V10, type question
Why are you complaining about outlines, by the way. Do they have to edit your content?
I'm in prepress and would like all type to be outlined. Unless it is a common font and you need it edited.
But is that really up to our department to make a change and expect us to have the font also?
I expect it is, because I do it all the time.

Beaj,
In case you didn't pick up on it in the thread "let's talk about the new text engine" you can determine whether the text is converted to outlines or saved as editable point text by a setting in the Document Setup dialog box.
