Default Saving clip art to use in another program

    Hi forum!

I have some clip art that i first want to change to gray scale and then correctly save in Illustrator so that i can use it in InDesign.

my file in InDesign is 2-color, and the original clip art is 3 colors.

Is there a way to get rid of 2 colors in the clip art and just keep the black outlines and then save it to place in my ID file?

I already saved the clip art file with a xparent BG in Photoshop, but it looks crummy.

    Any suggestions are appreciated!

Convert your clip art to grey scale either manually or using the Colors Filter in Illustrator. Then save as a format that InD accepts. EPS, etc. Even just an .ai file.

I just re-read your post. What do you want? Outlines or greyscale? for outlnes just select your objects and choose no fill.

What version of Illy are you using? I'll tell you what pages of the manual to read.

Just select the object and then select "no fill" (the swatch with the diagonal red line through it).

Sorry I don't have CS so I can't do the reading for you.
