Saving down from CS2 to CS
I have created a document in CS2 and my client only has CS. Is there a way to save the document down so that my client can open it?

Re: Saving down from CS2 to CS
Export as INX and tell the client that they MUST be fully patched to CS
3.0.1 (838).

Re: Saving down from CS2 to CS
We tried that. My client downloaded the patch (InDesign 3.0.1) and installed. She forwarded me the following error message that she gets when trying to open the .inx file:
Cannot open the file "***". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application.
I had her check her plug-ins in InDesign, and it sounds like the patch installed successfully because she has many plug-ins now that are dated April 2005 and show as installed today.
Any other suggestions?

Re: Saving down from CS2 to CS
Have here cmd+click on "About InDesign" under the InDesign menu
(ctrl+click it under the help menu in Windows).
That will reveal the actual build number.

Re: Saving down from CS2 to CS
Hi Bob -
Thank you again for the latest suggestion. We did that, and all seems to be in line. It shows as being 3.0.1. We also ran the "look for new updates" and that came back as "none necessary".
Does the computer, ie mine, that is exporting also need the plugin or just the computer that is attempting to open the file?

Re: Saving down from CS2 to CS
There are three 3.0.1s. There's a build number in parenthesis which must
be 838.

Okay then.
Tell her try turning color management off. This problem usually crashes
ID but it's worth a try.

Re: Saving down from CS2 to CS
Thanks for you patience Bob. Unfortunately she's left for the day and I won't be able to pick this up until after the holiday. Have a good one.
