Saving files in Mac and opening them in PC
I use a Mac in school but I have a PC at home.
Is there a way to save the file so I can open them at home ?
I use a removable drive to transport my files between the computers.
So far when I connect at home all I see is a trash can in the removable drive. I cannot find the files from school.
Please help.

Re: Saving files in Mac and opening them in PC
Ok. are you saving the file with the file extension such a artdoc.ai or artdoc.pdf?
Remember on a PC you have to have the extension.
Now there are somethings you should tell us. What OS version for both platforms? What version of AI? Are you putting the extensions at the end of the file name?
What type of Drive and how is it formatted? How is it connected?

Re: Saving files in Mac and opening them in PC
Sorry.
I am using windows xp on the pc and os x on the mac.
The drive is formated under Fat32 and connected using USB.
I thought when you save the file, the default extension is .ai
Anyway I will try this Friday and type the .ai extension on the file.
Thanks.

Re: Saving files in Mac and opening them in PC
It should be the default extension but you should check it out it might be another issue if you already have the extension.

Re: Saving files in Mac and opening them in PC
You might want to check out my FAQ <http://discussions.info.apple.com/WebX?128@@.68947ac6> on Apple's site about saving to non-HFS+ disks from OS X (and OS 9).
Hope this helps....
